One thing about that is....John Taylor decided to play bass after hearing "Good Times"....and Bernard also produced the Power Station project. So you could say it was sort of related![:D]

Yeah, thats why I thought to mention it. Chic was one of the greats.
Niles Rogers also produced Madonna and Debbie Harry, and Tony Thompson played drums for Power Station. Lots of inbreeding with disco and NW.

I was wondering if and when someone would mention Beggs. Because of Kajagoogoo's image and all of the derision they received from critics (half of which probably never even bothered to actually listen to the records), Beggs has never gotten the credit he deserves as a musician.

Beggs was also a pretty big fan of Mick Karn at one point. Someone can correct if I'm wrong, but I believe that one of Karn's sculptures was pictured on the inner sleeve of the UK pressings of Kajagoogoo's "Islands" LP. Beggs also experimented with playing some fretless bass (Karn's trademark) on that album.

I'm a fan of John Taylor's work, but I always thought that he lifted that particular bassline (as great as it is) from Bernard Edwards. Listen to Chic's "Dance, Dance, Dance" and you'll see what I mean.
