My husband was deployed to Iraq in 2004 (he's active duty army, he's in Afghanistan this year) I know what he told me about his experiences there and thanking you for your service isn't nearly saying enough but it's a start.

I did not know Frank Allen- the 82nd is one of the biggest divisions in the Army.
Our brigade alone had over 4,000 troops in it.
The support we got from the civilians back home was phenomenal. One church in Indiana sent two huge cases of Girl Scout cookies- all told, over 100 boxes, which we put up in the headquarters for everyone who worked there (the soldier whose parents belong to the church worked in our brigade headquarters company). And, that is just the tip of the iceberg.
