christsmasher: I agree the police is a better band I was so surprised though I thought every one was going to pick U2 but the better band trully one.
Now Live that is a tottally different issue The Police are the best band ever live. Just take a police LP and put it to 45 and thats how fast and energetic they played. Now I saw them at the wrong time at Day on the Green 1983. I wish I could of saw them at Zellerback March of 79' (UC Berkeley w/ The Knack as the opening act) or November of 79' at the Warfield (SF w/ Pearl Harbour and the Explosions and Steele Pulse as the Opening act)

Just new here. So I'll reply to old old topics.

I like early U2 until their decline (for me only) started after Rattle and Hum.

I LOVE STEWART COPELAND!!! I love all their work.

Obviously, my vote goes to THE POLICE.

Hmmm.. wondering how I missed this thread the first time round??

This battle is between one of the greatest rock bands of all time and a pseudo-reggae novelty act. De-do-do-do De-da-da-da? Even Sting made fun of the Police.... "every cake you bake".

My vote goes to "the emotional pull on your heart strings do gooders"

A novelty act? That's just too funny... that Andy Summers just has no talent.

I cannot choose one over the other I love them both. Went to their shows back in the early days and in the 90s and still enjoyed them both.
