After much thought, and reading all of these threads, I would have to go with Joy Division. Their sound was very unique compared to what else was going on at the time. They inspired more bands from the 80's onward than New Order. "Komakino" is an excelle

For me, Disorder, Isolation, Atmosphere, She's Lost Control outweigh the best of New Order (Love Vigilantes is my fav). Add in Love Will Tear Us Apart Again - possibly the best song ever - and the Ian Curtis factor, and i
