Hi,

In Better Off Dead, John Cusack was skiing.
It was in One Crazy Summer (with Bobcat, Demi, etc) that he was sailing.

Both were made by "Savage" Steve Holland consecutively so it's fairly easy to get them confused.

Anyone else remember "Reckless" (1984) with Aidan Quinn and Daryl Hannah? It was a less-than-average rehash of the bad boy/good girl theme, but for some reason I really liked it at the time. It had a great soundtrack with some of the more obscure INXS songs from "Shabooh Shabah," which was my favorite album of the time, so I thought the movie was, like, really speaking to me. Also a strange dance scene set to Romeo Void's "Never Say Never." I checked on amazon and it seems to be out of print, but I have an old video for nostalgia's sake.

Had nothing to do with new wave at all, but one of my favorites from the 80s was Children of A Lesser God, great classical music and excellent storiy and acting with William Hurt and Marlee Matlin.

The breakfast club
Weird Science (love the scene where Michael Anrthony Hall gets drunk)

Not really in the line we are all talking about but I loved the movie Bachelor party. Though it did have some new wave people at the party and the girl band was kinda new wave. I still will watch any of these movies when they are on.[:)]

Marie3, what about easy money with rodney dangerfeild? Thats a classic along with back to school.
Batchelor party? How about the tiny indian pimp? Was he great or what? In its time, that movie was the best.
Weird science? Anything with anthony is good with me. I love him in pretty in pink when he is dancing and ends up dancing by himself! Also when he gets nervous he mumbles to himself this really funny stuff. Love that guy.Its funny, a freind of mine is getting re-married(WHY!) and his wife set up a website. So I logged on and told her for her batchelorette party she should go to a strip club but do not ask for the foot long. Remember that with the mother? That was great. I told her to ask for a stripper named Phil. She has blocked me from the site. No humor on that girl.

Near Dark--they drive around in a van with windows painted black. I think Lance Henrickson starred in it. Interesting side note--the word vampire was never used in the movie.

Thats the one, Hendreckson, and 2 0thers from aliens were in that movie. The scared wise cracking soldier and the spanish girl soldier.

"Near Dark" also had that girl from "The Wall" and "Out of Bounds"...can't think of her name just now though.
