Name That Tune Volume 12 - How Musically Rounded Are You?[/b]
I think it's been pretty well established that the players of Name That Tune on this board are experts in the genre of New Wave, Punk, and 80s Alternative music in all its variety. Even the folks who score well below the average on these games would put the man in the street to shame with their knowledge of this music. With the many threads on non-New Wave music on this board, it's obvious that many of us have other musical interests, besides New Wave. With that said, I thought it might be fun for a change to see just how broad this knowledge really is. [8D]
This edition of NTT is the How Musically Rounded Are You[/b] edition, so to speak. Instead of the usual mix of New Wave styles, this game will have everything but New Wave! [:p]
The styles run the gamut, from Classical to Techno and everything in between. In each case I have tried to pick very well known songs in their respective styles. There are no obscure rarities that only a true connoisseur of the genre would know. Of course if you are only into New Wave, Punk, and 80s Modern Rock, you may find this game pretty tough. [:I]
A few of the styles represented are Grunge, Disco, Old School Rap, Jazz Fusion, Big Band, British Invasion, Motown, Progressive Rock, Funk, Eurodance, Hip-Hop, House, Country, Metal, Techno, Classic Rock, Trance, Freestyle, and Classical. Also the tracks are loosely chronological, beginning with Classical and ending with current styles. I know I've missed a few popular styles, but there is just so much you can cram into 50 samples. As usual, there are 50 songs clips - for a total of 100 points (1 point for artist, 1 point for title). There are 2 seconds of silence between song clips. Download your response form below and email it to me for tabulation when you're finished (my email address is on the form). Make sure to put your forum screen names on your answers, so I know who you are. I will send the Answer Sheet to everyone who sends me their responses (if you don't hear from me within 24 hours, I probably didn't get your email). Don't post your responses here!

Special notes: For the classical selections (#1 & #2), put the composer for the artist. I don't expect anyone to be able to tell the London Philharmonic from the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Likewise, with the Big Band / Swing selections (#3 & #4), I'm looking for the name of the bandleader that made the songs famous, not who is playing them in the samples (they are modern recordings).
The game will end on Friday August 13 at 4PM EDT[/b].
Good Luck! [:)]
