60's Icons
70's Has Beens (almost)
Came back strong in the 80's with the "State Of Confusion" lp.

I think this was anawesome lp , esp. title cut "State of Confusion".

What does the rest of the world think?

Great music by The Kinks far outweighs the bad music they made.

"State Of Confusion" is an excellent album. They had one great double live album in the 90's called "To The Bone" which was part electric/part acoustic and..naturally...out of print now!!

The quintessential English band. I think that they were never given their rightful due, at least in the US, alongside the Beatles or the Stones. Their songs are so English, that is may have been hard for US audiences to grasp some of their stuff. "Som

I think the Kinks have been overlooked. Even their 80's material is very good. I always thought it did them justice to see their video of "Come Dancing" being played alongside all the other big video hits of the day. I think "Sleepwalker" is a great and o

they're 60's stuff was the best. One of the most influential bands in the UK. It was pure Brit Pop in the most litteral sence. They are true Brit Icons in the same catgory with The Jam.
