I Want My MTV (Canada)

Has anyone noticed MTV Canada is going live Tuesday?

Apparently they won't play videos, just shows like Pimp My Snowmobile, so as not to compete with MuchMusic.

I dunno, I just don't get it.

I was looking for the station by flipping channels and didn't know that I had passed it since they were playing some Tom Green show. Thanks but don't do me any favours. MTV Canada = utter crap. I think the M stands for Monkey these days.

Actually, the good thing is that MuchMusic won't have MTV's programs anymore, so hopefully, they'll play music instead of the moron shows.

MTV Latinamerica is just reality shows... no videos. This has been happening since 2000 and now has made MTV a really lousy channel.

Reality killed the video star!!

Man, I LOVED MuchMusic. Unforuntely, I only had it for a little less than a year before it was replaced by MuchMusic USA (HORRIBLE) and then Fuse (not horrible, but not much that I'm really into either).

They just seemed to have a lot more videos in their rotation and they seemed to be a lot more open minded than most of the American video channels. I also liked the variety. Where else could you hear Janet Jackson and Nine Inch Nails back to back? Plus a lot of the Canadian acts were really cool.

You guys are lucky to still have it, and I don't blame you for not wanting any part of a MTV sponsored network.

I used to love MTV during the early 90's,when they played a lot of music videos, back to back, during the daytime and nighttime.Even the shows and programmes were more interesting and dedicated to different music styles, artists and events. You could see old, new, altenative, commercial all in one.
Today in most countries and regions we have MTV channels that are different, but similar at the same time. They are all loaded with stupid tv shows and crap especially during the prime time, and there are less and less music videos on the playlist.
Perhaps they should really think about changing the meaning of the letter "M" which stands for music into, like obs said, "monkey" or something else.
