I don't know a damn thing about where she is. I was just puzzled by mare's statement. deargod always came across to me as a disagreeable sort. Does this site have 2 deargod's? If so, nevermind.

Careful, bro. Making even the slightest negative reference to any of the former board goddesses will get you strung up around these parts.

I feel much like KYYX. I'm glad I made the choices I did in life -whether they sucked, or were good ones. I'm thankful for whatever bad stuff or stress I went through in life because I assume it made me a better person.

For me, the key is to look at the big picture. Everybody has privilege, that's really what it's about isn't it? Education, a home, a spouse, kids, a job, a savings account, etc. Be happy you have these things.

I just found out that I need expensive dental work, I'm going back to school, I'm paying off an obscenly expensive new roof - yeah, that all sucks. Thank God I have insurance, a job to pay off this stuff, good credit, the motivation to go back & learn something new.

I've got it good right now. Things could be better, but I'm not going to obssess on that. I'll use what I have now & see what comes down the road. As long as I'm not homeless, dying or have uncontrollable bowel problems - I'm happy!

Exactly!
Look, you have to look at your own life and choices. Those are the things you have control over. That is what you should be grateful for and depend upon. This reminds me of a moment at our New Year's Eve Bash. In the midst of tequila imbibing, politics came up. Most all our friends all feel politically the same as I do...i.e., on the liberal side of the spectrum, and sore as heck at this Wall of Ass that is the current administration. I said "c'mon, everybody, it's not that bad!" After everyone howled in protest, I said c'mon, we all have a roof over our heads, we're not homeless, we all have jobs that most of us love, we all have families/ spouses/ parteners/ pets whom we love dearly and who love us...we're darn lucky !

Yeah, I second that emotion about certain people being pieces of shit and not respecting them and you know who you are -- I don't even know why you choose to participate in my threads since you have that sort of animosity towards me.

Maybe certain people should just stay out of my way and I'll stay the fuck out of their way. That would make the most sense, no?

KYY -- EXCELLENT! I totally agree. I like the idea about getting married later in life. There was an article in MORE magazine about that from one of the women who won the models over 40 contest. Good words, you go girl.

Hutter -- I think Dear God was hilarious. We email a lot, she's an extremely positive person.

This topic is simplistic on so many levels. In the past week I've been told by a number of board members that I am sour, unhappy and dare I say, miserable. Nothing could be further from the truth. I have a loving wife, and 2 fantastic kids who occupy the most important part of my life. We share our lives, experiences, love and laughs. I also have a thriving business that allows my wife and I to give our children many of the things our parents could not give us. I also have many friends who I can talk to about anything, and they can do the same with me. In short, my life is very fulfilling.

But, the inference made by M._idol that because I questioned some basic biological issues she stated to be true, I must be a frustrated little nerd beating off to pics of Pamela Anderson is pathetic. Such is the product of a shallow, self-absorbed mind. Sorry, there I go offering an opinion again...do I sound miserable yet?

The board is just a board, life is life. I don't get the 2 confused and I don't feel the need to draw from one to supplement the other.

Check off one in the happy box Mare.

P.S. The cheque is in the mail, you know who!!

There's no need to worry to the extent of... implying around here (on numerous threads to-day, I might add).

I'm mildly surprised that a truly happy person, as yourself, would spend any energy or time thinking what to say about those whom you perceive to have ill-will towards you. It's as if the most minute thing that discomfits you could throw everything off balance at any moment. Maybe if this is fun for you, I'd venture to presume this is considered part of your "happy" activities and it wouldn't be surprising at all, then. Also, you don't own this messageboard. MikeP does. Everyone is entitled to participate in any topic they so desire, so long as MikeP says it's okay. In spite of the fact you think I'm a piece of shit, I wasn't addressing you directly in the topic you started. I was replying to two other members.

I was the other one he replied to, but I was really just talking about pieces of shit offline and not here. The only things NWO-related that ever fuck with my happiness are the error messages. Oh well. [B)]

I meant people in real life, too.

I'm gonna go polish off a scoop of pistachio almond ice cream with a crispy sugar waffle. To all, don't do anything I wouldn't do[}:)] If any one of yous has anything to respond to what I wrote last, think of what MikeP said in the other topic. THEN, decide whether you're gonna post it here or go to the extent of e-mailing it to me. If you have to think twice about e-mailing me, don't bother responding. Well I'm happy too. I have a loving husband and we're great friends, an active social life, more than enough of everything except meaningful work. Compared to the average person on this planet I'm rich beyond dreams and I know it. I'm also sad. I'm sad because I can't really share what I have with the really needy. That I can't pick up a family from some refugee camp and bring them home and feed them and share my wealth, that drives me nutz.

Can we just drop it gang? We've had way too much of this personal quibbling lately. Believe me, it's not worth it. I wish more people could either just let it slide or at least semi-politely disagree each other. I detect a certain amount of intolerance with certain people here, and hey, even I've got my cynical side but at the end of the day I try to adopt a "live and let live" attitude.[^]

I agree, stop posting the baiting threads.

BTW Toe, you asked for my e-mail in another thread...it's in my profile. I'll leave it until the end of the week.
