Downloading New Wave Music

Hi all, I've been using Musicmatch Jukebox on my Dell PC for a couple of years now. I'm alwayw getting these offers to upgrade the program, and one of the things they're always pushing is that I can download music from over 600,000 songs, whatever. I have heard of places to download songs for $1. Is this one of them? Has anyone here done that on MM Jukebox? If so, is the process easy? I'm wondering how many songs from the New Wave Era will be in there.
There are so many albums, too much to buy, sometimes I only want one track.

OR - is there a better site to go to, something that the software won't get into my computer and screw up all my default settings, throw millions of pages of spyware into, etc? I like using Jukebox, so I wouldn't want anything that only plays the music in it's own program.

Use soul seek it's P to P and free. It's not quite as expansive as what the old napster used to be, but you'll be suprised at what you can find.You'll never get hold of those hard to find and unique new wave songs on MMJB just your standard fair.

Actually as posted on the other forum about setting up our own e-bay we can set-up our own share group on sould eek giving nwo members exclusivity or at least preferental treatment. I for one have a ton of 80's NW and very rare eno,icehouse,new musik etc.

Audiogalaxy was the best! But kazalite is not bad. I have yet to figure out soulseek. Alot of people use it so I guess I'm just a retard. I'll get it sooner or later. I thought you had to make a donation in order to share files.

You don't have to make a donation. If you do they give you priority d/l privileges, which will move you to the top of any queue you enter.

I'll vouch for British's collection, it is quite expansive. And very well organized!

phillyidol, soulseek is pretty easy to use. If you need help with it, let me know.

I typically switched p2p programs every 6 months, or until litigation sets in. Here's a brief history:

1. Napster - 99% of my transfers failed(I was on DSL, not dialup)
2. Audiogalaxy. STILL reigns at the top. Downloaded all 3 of Josie cotton's albums

My main beef about all the p2p's is there is too much stuff at 128 kbps. I find these mp3's unlistenable. It really bothers me when someone takes the time to make mp3's from vinyl at this rate. It's a waste of time. I realize much of the older stuff w
