Siren's Call next New Order single??

I see there's a September release for the "Waiting for the Sirens Call" as the next single off the album by the same name. I say to Barney and Friends...Why?! I think both "Turn" and "Hey Now What You Doing" are hugely underrated songs with killer hooks that could easily have been singles at any time in their great history. WTF?

Anyone else think there are underappreciated gems on this album?

Remember way back when I thought "Krafty" was weak? My confession is this: I start almost every day by jumping in my car and cranking Krafty full blast. By the time Morris slams down on his drums and Barney sings "Just give me one more day", I'm bouncing up and down in my seat, singing at the top of my lungs, and thinking "fuck off" to anyone who might watching. That song has become my theme song, the way it slyly and subversively starts with...

"Sitting in a car and driving down the road
It ain't the way it has to be
But that's what you do to earn your daily wage
That's the kind of world that we live in to"

...before revealing itself to be the life-affirming song that so many other New Order ones are...

"This is where I wanna be
And this is what I wanna do".

I'm telling you, there are more discoveries like this on Sirens Call - certainly not every track but a few New Order family jewels.

Probably. Ever since they signed with London the suits have been calling the shots. Just look at the tons of crap remixes, multiple re-issues of Blue Monday, multiple "Best Of" etc etc. And of course the quality of the music has nose-dived.
Sorry for the negativity, but there is just such a wide disparity in the quality of their first 15 years of releases, and the subsequent 12+ years, roughly reflecting the Factory and London eras respectively.

I certainly agree that Krafty is a good song. You may recall this:

No prob, and well yeah, of course there's a disparity. But they're still alive and kicking and putting out better songs than 99% of the crap out there, and I couldn't be happier for it. It's like the disparity between New Wave and Next Wave - of course it's a pale shadow of the former, but it's what we got and some of it's pretty good. I honestly can't freakin wait for the next album. I wonder if it has something to do with giving up on them in the very late 80s and getting revitalized with Get Ready that I'm not at all jaded about this stuff?

And OMG, you're right, it just registered that Krafty IS a lot like Regret, my other current fav NO song. That's another I could sing out from first to last word without any self-consiousness or....regret!!!
