I've been mulling over this in my head for the last couple of days and I think I'm going to actually do it.
I've been very intrigued by the new wave radio fandom I've seen on this site and I'm especially interested in people who are "reconstructing" their fandom on the Internet either by way of compiled playlists on a tribute site or webcasts that mimic the playlists of these radio stations-I'm talking about the Seattle Stations (KYYX and KJET), 91X, and of course "World Famous" KROQ and
"The Quake" and probably that Canadian station, CFNY, also.
The people who regularly post to this site probably know who I want ever to talk to. So, if anyone else here is involved in this "web fandom" of old radio, please reply to this post.
The other thing I need to know is contact information for people who do this who don't regularly post here.
I'd also like to get in contact with Rodney B-because if anyone would to get have a bead on KROQ fandom, I'm sure he would. Has anyone here ever contacted him? How hard is he to get a hold of?
All I'm asking is for people to be patitent with me. I have a number of "open" projects I'm currently pursuing and this would have to be in my spare time, such as it is. School starts soon and I'm taking three classes and teaching two.
Also, as this is an academic project. I have to carefully build my theory and that can be a long, laborious process. But, I have some thoughts as to where to go. Also, any interview I do have to be cleared by our school's human subjects board.
I think this could be fun for all concerned and I will gladly make available any completed manuscript to anyone who wants this.
I have an idea where it could go already for publication.

Don't really know-I just came up with the idea this weekend-it has to do with media and the construction of identity-but I just looked a couple of things up and I have a lot of research to do.
