I'm not informed enough on Numan to have an opinion, but to go OT a little bit, did anyone else see the ESPN NFL commercial using "Cars" are the jingle? New Wave is freakin pervasive man.

Every one just loves that album. Its great but "Beserker" was his high point.

It's a tie between Telekon and Replicas. The Pleasure Princlple is good, but overplayed in my past. Tubeway Army is good, but a bit on the raw side compared to the subsequent albums. I pretty much lost interest after Telekon. I bought the odd LP here and there and it really sounded like he was fishing for hits.

I liked the sub-NIN Sacrifice album for awhile but I don't think it held up, not like the first 4 records.

I'd guess TPP or Replicas? ARE FRINEDS ELECTRIC? (has nothing to do with weather it's a good song or not) is one of the silliest song titles ever. Robyn Hitchcock thinks so do I believe.

Pure is pretty awesome. Listening to it, you totally see where Gary reached way down beyond the darkest parts of his soul and pulled out this incredible album. I think he is secretly the father of Trent Reznor and Marilyn Manson.

Replicas. 'Down in the Park' and 'Are Friends Electric' are SO good. Never had a chance to hear Beserker, though..

You'd think "Warriors" since it had Bill Nelson on it would be better than it is, but I think it is one of Numan's worst.

Numan and Nelson didn't quite "see eye to eye" when recording that album. Wish I could remember the exact quote but Numan said something to the effect that Bill Nelson would wait for inspiration to flutter through the window on a sunbeam, whereas Gary just wanted to play and record.

After Telekon it just all goes downhill for me. Replicas is my favorite! The Pleasure Principle is second. ;o)

Somebody made a copy of Automatic for me, and it seems as if Numan had phoned in his stuff--with the exception of Change Your Mind, of course.
