Hmm.

Did New Waver artists just not really do drugs, then? How rampant, or un-rampant, was drug use among the musicians of our favourite music? Call me naive, but it seems like lots of NW music was cute, fun, and silly (the other NW PERVS songs notwithstanding), with not a lot of depressing, crime-laden, drug abusing lyrics and imagery. We know about Boy George; But, Otherwise, Am I wrong ? I've noticed that many of the above suggestions feature a lot of punk acts. Punk definately explored social commentary more than NW did. I find this quite interesting.
