Outkast - Hey yah.

I absolutely destest hip hop and gangster rap. For some reason. I love this song. I dont know why. I refuse to admit it in public, so the only people who know this are the New Wave bretheren (sp?).

Anything equally worse out there?

Is it wrong for me to like some of these songs?

I mean I enjoy some ELO and Duran Duran from time to time also.

I'm replying now because some of the early posts mentioned Eddie Murphy "Party All The Time". I've been toilet training my kid lately and that song keeps popping into my head..."my girl wants to potty all the time, potty all the time, potty all the time...". Man, I am getting old.

My guilty pleasure is (don't hit me ant fans) Puss'n'Boots by Adam Ant!

No, I can listen to Len's Steal My Sunshine, and Chumawumba's TubThumping about 10 times in a row and still not get sick of them. There is a benefit to me not listening to the radio - I rarely get overexposed to the hits.

wow...so I had no idea "Putting on the Ritz" by Taco and "Wot" by Captain Sensible fell into the "guilty pleasure" category. I love those! Add to the mix, "Belly of the Whale" by Burning Sensations and "Shiny Shiny" by Hayzi Fantayzee and I'm good to go [:D]

I have enough great stuff in my collection to "cancel out" anything that would be considered uncool. I like what I like! Everyone, and I do mean EVERYONE that I know has some form of crap in their collection. Many sheepishly admit to liking it, and that's fine. For me, some of the "cheesier" stuff I like is only in my collection because it reminds me of a certain time. Music really is "the soundtrack to our lives," and while I regularly listen to Kraftwerk or New Order or something challenging like Neu!, I also get a kick out of sticking in some cheese into my CD player, like Toto, or a "heartland rock band" from Cleveland (my hometown) called The Michael Stanley Band. Their music would make most people here puke (and I certainly don't like all of it), but it was a big part of my youth and listening to it makes me smile. You won't find me blasting it out of the windows of my black Maxima (it clashes with my "NEWWAVE" license plate!) but at home, once in a while, I'll pop in songs like "Lover" or "When Your Heart Says It's Right" and imagine sharing some Cleveland-area food specialties with my sister back in the late '70s/early '80s, or going to the mall with my friends, etc.

Still, my best memories are attached to new wave! Some less quality than others (at least in the public's eye), but no one is going to pry my Kajagoogoo CDs away from me! [8D]

Ok,here it is.I like numerous songs from The Carpenters,Neil Diamond,Abba,Bryan Adams and John Denver.And this is from a guy who buys alot from the Victory,Relapse,Smallstone ,People like you lables.It,s alot easier posting it than telling it to your croonies.
