Cook Da Books

Is anyone here familiar with Cook Da Books?

I don't know too much about the band, but I have a couple of their singles ("Golden Age", "You Hurt Me Deep Inside") on some rare 80s CDR compilations that I got from a friend several years ago.

After doing a search, I came across a CD release at e-pop called "Some Soul Kitchen" which is apparently a studio demo recorded in 1982 that the band released on their own label.

I'm guessing that most of the songs on that demo were eventually re-recorded and/or remixed when the band signed to 10 records a few years later and then released as singles. Can anyone confirm this?

Also does anyone here have the "Some Soul Kitchen" disc? If so, would you recommend it?

I'm familiar with their song Low Profile, which I love, it's a great song (I have an mp3 of it) -- not heard anything else though.

cOOK DA BOOKS WERE A BAND FROM LIVERPOOL.
I REMEMBER THEY HAD A GREAT TRACK CALLED I WOULDNT WANT TO KNOCK IT. hAVENT HEARD IT IN NEARLY 20NYERS (SOB!)
