Footloose "Special Edition" treatment

Postby red x red » Tue Aug 24, 2004 12:47 am

I see that Footloose is getting the DVD "Special Edition" for release in September.

I might pick this up merely as a guilty pleasure. [:I]

The comments below the announcement, however, are a funny read. They mimic what others have said on this board about Footloose.

Wow!!! I recently found 'Footloose' on of my random old videos. I'd taped it from TV when I was younger and it brought back so many memories!!

The bloke watched it with me and actually quite enjoyed it (although he won't admit it in public!)

I think

I guess I'm the only poster to this site who thinks this is an okay movie.

I like Lithgow's perfromance (he's one of my favorite actors) and it's mildly implausible-but not that bad.

I dunno I kinda like it.

I must admit that I have never seen this movie, though I saw it mentioned on one of those VH1 "I Love The 80's" specials. I understand the basic plot of the movie, so when one of the celebrity commentators asked the question about how the kids in the town

I spent my formative teenage years beneath the Mason-Dixon and attended a Christian school in Virginia. Dancing, along with drinking, was perceived as some sort of abomination against God, despite the new testament depicting Jesus and just about everyone

How can anybody forget the famous scene where the two guys play chicken-ON TRACTORS! I've seen guys play chicken in movies before but this was nuts. I must have taken them an hour to reach each other! Most of the people watching would have gone home!

I just never figured out why Kevin Bacon gets so upset that he throws himself into a dancing rage in an empty warehouse. That has to be lamest scene I have ever witnessed in cinema. His acting was horrible. The movie is so horrendous it is enjoyable.
