Blondie's website is reporting that the band is a nominee to the 2006 Rock Hall of Fame.

Anyone else hear this today?

I'm glad they were nominated. I wonder if they'll make it in this year?
I saw it earlier on one of the news services at yahoo.

What's the total amount of nominees per year and what's the scoop on their chances?

Wolverine,
You mean you're not going to quit your job and leave school to campaign full-time for their induction????? [:(!] I am SO disappointed. Afterall, weren't you the person who grabbed ahold of Debbie Harry's hand & wouldn't let go? [:D]

Sounds exactly like most of my experiences when I was 16 & discovering albums! [:D]

I remember looking at Kraftwerk albums at K-Mart & thinking how cool their record department was getting. Yeah - I was pretty sheltered.

Blondie was my first concert. I saw them at the Greek Theater. I swear to God Debbie Harry was checking me out...she was the drummer, right?

Blondie contributed to punk, pop and rap. They deserve to be in the Hall of Fame. For the record, my 4 favs are X-Offender, Youth Nabbed as Sniper, Contact in Red Square, and Accidents Never Happen. Then again, The Tide is High is great too!
