Robocop

I'd buy that for a dollar!

Your move creep.

You now have 20 seconds to drop your weapon.

Lewis: Murphy... I'm a mess...
RoboCop: They'll fix you. They fix everything.

Breakfast Club:

John Bender: Well, Brian, this is a very nutritious lunch. All the food groups are represented. Did your mom marry Mr. Rogers?
Brian Johnson: Uh, no. Mr. Johnson

Good Morning Vietnam:
Lieutenant Steven Hauk: "Good morning, Vietnam." What the heck is that supposed to mean?
Private Abersold: I don't know, Lieutenant, I guess it means good morning, Vietnam.
Lieutenant Steven Hauk: And who gave him permission to play modern music?
GREAT MOVIE! Just saw it again for the thousandth time last week.

Adventures in Babysitting:
Gang Leader: Don't f*ck with the Lords of Hell.
Chris: Don't f*ck with the babysitter.

Maid to Order: with Ally Sheedy
Stan Starkey: What the... WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY WRINKLED SUIT?
Jessie Montgomery: I just pressed it for you.
Stan Starkey: I know, but you're not supposed to press this! This is SUPPOSED to be wrinkled; I BOUGHT it like this! It's a Georgio Armani WRINKLED suit! Wrinkles are IN! We're in the 80's, kiddo; wake up! I can't believe this! My Georgio Armani, my favorite suit, PRESSED!

Another great thing that evolved from the 80's NO IRONS! Man I miss the 80's! Everything is straight now, hair clothes, CD's. DVD'S. Who has this kind of time? Really?

Did anyone else see this movie? It was on tv a couple of weeks ago. I loved it then and I still love it today.
Great thread Marvymarv.

Local Hero! Excellent. I put in the kind of a similar mental compartment as My Favorite Year.

BTW, I spoke at length with Peter O'Toole in the 80s when they were filming the not-so-good movie Creator on the UC Irvine campus. We were playing Ultimate and he came over to toss the frisbee a bit and chat about movies...freaking awesome.

My Favorite Year is a favorite...in fact I've watched it within the last couple of months (my job allows me to sit with a portable DVD player and have movies running all day hence the variety of movie I've seen).

Peter O'Toole- wow, that is impressive. He was one of the greats.

I was going to lunch one day at a place in Sherman Oaks called Solleys. I pulled in with my car as this group of men walked out and to the SUV next to me. I recognized the guy getting in next to me as Albert Brooks. All I could manage was "Hey I'm a big fan...love Lost in America". He was nice and thanked me. I see a lot of celebs are Sherman Oaks but he was a biggie for me.

Doesn't even compare with O'Toole though.

Oh sorry here you go-

Christmas Story

My father worked in profanity the way other artists might work in oils or clay. It was his true medium, a master.

How about another from Airplane!
"Surely you can't be serious?"
"I am serious, and don't call me Shirley."

And Sixteen Candles:
The brother, after finding out the whole family forgot Sam's birthday:
"CLASSIC!"

It's a line I use all the time!!

Wow, not one quote from "Fletch"? Criminal.

"I ran into Alan this morning and you know what I can't figure out?"
"Alan's in Utah."

Two great ones from River's Edge:

Feck: I killed a girl, it was no accident. Put a gun to the back of her head and blew her brains right out the front. I was in love.
Samson: I strangled mine.
Feck: Did you love her?
Samson: She was okay.

and

Matt: The only reason you stay here is so you can fuck my mother and eat her food. MOTHERFUCKER. FOOD EATER.

Well, okay...I'm tarting up my story a bit. What I did was take a screencap of the film and then have my friend who works for a print shop retouch it and blow it up to 8x10 size.

I think I have the image around here somewhere. If you print it out on nice paper and stick it in a frame the thing looks authentic as hell.

I can't figure out how to put pictures in posts here (keep getting errors) but here's a link to a pic of it.

"The more you drive the less intelligent you are"-Repo Man.

"Charming friends you have, Otto", his girlfriend says,"Thanks, I made them myself" Otto says, after his ex-girlfriend spits at her.

"Take a picture, it'll last longer"-Pee Wee's Big Adventure.

"Doesn't anyone knock anymore?"-Fast Times at Ridgemont High, in the infamous pool scene with Phoebe Cates when she wallks in on Judge Reinhold.
