I think I can explain this....you probably got used to listening to the original US releases back in the 80's as I did. The remastered CDs are from the original UK masters as the band desired.

The one time that this bothered me in terms of UK & US recordings is Altered Images "Bite" release. The "Another Lost Look" UK version does not sound anywhere as good as the US version.
On the other hand, the UK version of the Thompson Twins "Lay Your Hands On Me" is ten times better than the US version. I also love the Depeche Mode version of "Dreaming of Me" on Speak & Spell because it has that cool little ending. [:D]
