The Suburbs anyone???

Just wanted to know if anyone else loves these Minneapolis wonders?
"Hits" include "Love Is The Law", "Rattle My Bones", "Music For Boys",
"#9" and "Waiting". Their releases are: The Suburbs Ep (1978) In Combo (1980), World War III (1980), Credit In Heaven (1981), Waiting (1982),
Dream Hog (1983), Love Is The Law (1984) and Suburbs (1986). They went on to re-issue a few things on cd, two best-of's and one live album (which rocks) and a bonu slive DVD.

"Music For Boys" is a classic, as well as "Love Is The Law"

Great band. I picked up the "Love Is The Law" reissue and the "Chemistry Set" collection a few years ago.

I picked up "In Combo" & "Credit In Heaven" at my local Media Play a few months back. Both were in the cut out bin & last time I checked, there were several copies of each left for about $7 each. Both are great records, although I do like "In Combo" a bit better.

There's a bonus DVD that comes with their newest cd CHEMISTRY SET: THE SONGS OF THE SUBURBS 1987-1987. It's seven songs from their 10/03
stint at First Avenue. The DVD, while being a tad brief, rocks.
The CD has three unreleased tracks but if it's a good best-of you're looking for, get LADIES AND GENTLEMAN, THE SUBURBS HAVE LEFT THE BUILDING (1992/19 SONGS). It rules.
The Suburbs live album VIVA! SUBURBS!(recorded at First Avenue 4/93) (20 songs/1994) also rocks way hard.

Couldn't resist picking up Credit in Heaven last weekend when I saw it in the Used rack at Newbury Comics....

Somebody on the staff of "Roseanne" must have been a big Suburbs fan. Darlene's prom episode featured "Love Is the Law." How Mercury/Polygram couldn't turn that song into a hit, I'll never know. (Not that they were really trying to.)

"Music for Boys" was catchy... and a little creepy. If Michael Jackson and Victor Salva ever put together a mix tape, I reckon that would be Track 1.

I was at that show! I've been a Suburbs fans since "Music For Boys" came out, and luckily I got the chance to see them a few times back in the day, as well as the '94 show mentioned above, and summer of '04 opening for the B-52's.
