Party Monster movie, were you a Club Kid?

Did anyone see the movie "Party Monster"? It has been airing on the Independent Film Channel or Sundance on cable lately. The movie shows the New York club scene of the late 80s and the early 90s, has a largely new wave soundtrack(like "New York, New York" by Nina Hagen), and shows the look and feel of the time and place, before it turns very dark. Was any out there a Club Kid? I was in a suburb of LA at the time, so my only contact with this scene was through the old(not the new, changed)Details magazine and the music. I went to a local club in club kid attire, which was not considered cool here. If you've seen the movie, or the documentary, or read the book, what do you think? What are your personal memories of the scene?

I totally remember club kids. I can't stand them! The movie really did a good job at describing them. A good example of a club kid: a man or woman, giant platform go go boots,fake plastic jewlery,wigs, horrid makeup, worshipping Madonna.I found them to be

Thank goodness I was not "out and about" with those self absorbed morons very often.

I don't know, when New Wave hit, it was more about the music than the look. The look developed after the music, but it was always about the music.

I wasn't a club kid, but I was interested in whether there was an overlap between the new wave scene and the club kid scene, and whether anyone on the board had been into it. I definately was new wave and punk, but from a distance(just reading about the

I went nightclubbing, but wasn't a "club kid".
It's like Momotaro mentioned, the music & dancing was more important to me than trying to get attention in a dark, noisy & crowded nightclub where just about everyone wore black.
