Yes DVD! It's amazing to me that we can get a film that was just in the theaters and then watch it on a handheld device.

And computers! People our age can appreciate them the most because we know what they can do but we also remember when they weren't around.

"Hey Grandpa, how did you get by without ATMs?"

"Well Timmy, we had to rush to the bank on Friday and make sure we got enough money to last us the whole weekend. If you didn't- you were screwed. And gas stations used to close by 8 o'clock."

Do a Skoochies NTT. Do an WLIR NTT. If you can't or don't want to put one together on your own, just send me a list. 2Nu sent me a great MP3 CD of LIR classics. I could probably do one after consulting with an expert.

SCORING UPDATE

After the first weekend of the game, we have just a few respondents and an average score of 35 - yup, this appears to be a tough one. However, we have almost no responses from the usual SoCal suspects yet. Let's see those answers! I know there's a bunch of you who would do very well on this game.

In fact - and amazingly - only #s 2, 20, and 23 are unanswered, supporting my suspicion that I didn't go completely insane with the difficulty. Furthermore, those three unanswered bands are distinctly non-SoCal ones even!

I don't think it's the music that's throwing people, I think some were offended and distracted by your diss of Jerry.

I was so offended I pretended not to notice the first time around.

Ask yourself- would you have done the same to Kelly Lange?

No, I would have done Tricia Toyota first. Oops, that wasn't the question was it?!

How about "Stuck in a Pagoda with Tricia Toyota" - The Dickies

Of course it's only news in the most liberal use of the word. I mean would Jerry or Hal work for a news show who's logo is "Get It On". Their promos look like soft core porn ads sometimes. You should see them during sweeps week.

SCORING UPDATE

We got a few more responses and the scores are all over the place. Average is down to 33. However, we still have almost no responses from the SoCal contingent. What is up with this?! Let's see those answers my West Coast brothers and sisters...I gotta show my face among my East Coast adoptees!

Again, only #s 2, 20, and 23 are unanswered. Come on, you're running outta time - the game's only got a few more days.

I'm in SoCal too & I'm not even gonna try, I'd be embarassed by the score[:I]
This one is tough.
With one quick listen I only got 3 or 4 [:0]

I'm anxious to see the answers especially since most of these tracks sound pretty cool

WEEKEND UPDATE

Going into the final day, the average score took a sudden bump up to 33 from a low of 29 with a couple of nice performances. Big thanks to all those game enough to play despite some low scores. A couple of the SoCal contingent finally poked their heads out - thanks!

We dropped to only #s 20, and 23 unanswered - good job mailing #2's answer all the way from the Netherlands Brambo! You thought it was obvious, I thought it was somewhat...whatever the case a great, great early song by a signature eighties band. [;)]

Well, I gave it a shot and while several sounded familiar, I could only identify 4. I'm sure there will be many "d'oh!" moments.

Then again, I was 10 years old in 1981 and lived 3,000 miles from KROQ, so I'll get over it.
