Just curious. I see alot of posts regarding these two stations and I wonder how many listened to each, if any. If not, tell us what your New Wave station of choice was back in the good old days.

I'd go with CFNY for music coming out of Europe in the 80's.

IWantMyMTV - Can't believe you mentioned KIQQ - that was my favorite station back in the day! I'm actually going to start a thread about this so as not to get off topic ...

I'm definitely going to fire up that WLIR station, and it looks like Live365 has a few others worth trying. Thanks!

I vote for CFNY as well. The short-lived WUWU from Buffalo was great too.

WUWU forever changed my taste in music and specifically "Escalator of Life" by Robert Hazard which was the first song I heard on the station.
CFNY was great too, plus they played all those Canadian bands that weren't touched (or even known about) by stations in the States.

OMG Shoyrtt, too true. 91x (when I could get it) ruled! By the mid-late 80s played more deep cuts and more cool, independent stuff than KROQ, which was just starting to go safe and corporate, except for that brief blip when Rick Carroll came back before leaving this mortal coil [V]
