MTV- Awards: P.U.

Postby phillyidol » Sun Aug 29, 2004 11:50 am

I'm watching these awards and I can't believe how much the modern music scene stinks! Almost every act is just grabbing their crotches yelling ya know what I'm sayin. At least a few acts have some style and class and I hope thet succeed just so that they show the other animals how to act.
And on another subject, how commercial has MTV become? I know you have to pay the bills but give me a break.[:(!]

MTV - the acronym has been meaningless for many years - they should get rid of the "MTV" and rename it something more relevant to the bulls**t it now is. As for the awards, total total crap. I agree kimiiii, anything is better to watch. Hell, I'd rather s

What really gets my goat is the fact that the performers even bother to show up at these awards. Big freakin' deal! In the scheme of things, a music video is at the very bottom of importance of a musician's artistic credentials. Leave it to MTV to mak

I agree with bowiestation- the only thing worth watching MTV for was Liquid Television, Cartoon Sushi & Aeon Flux, which were all ANIMATION & had nothing to do with music videos! That really says a lot...
I find myself more & more tuned to VH1 Classic on

I tried to watch it last night and couldn't believe how bad it was. When MTV started the award show it was a joke to them really. Now these people take it seriously. Give me a break..It was the worst I have ever seen. Even the "band" groups could not

I don't understand all the complaining. MTV - the channel - stopped being music television years ago. Sure the awards are a joke and people take them too seriously. Linkin Park's video director thinks he's in the band. Yellowcard's singer was practically

Let's not forget The Idiot Box(with the less successful half of Bill & Ted) and Sifl&Olly for actually good MTV shows.

I tried to watch them for a little while last night, but found myself getting angry and bordering on violent! MTV incites rage in my little world. The "music" is utterly horrendous. The "artists" are so corporate manufactured CRAP! The hosts are pathetic

They were lame. Why would anybody want to play in a band like that? Why would anybody pay to see a band like that. Were they trying to be "Up with People"?

Again, another reason with MTV is unwatchable. I will admit though, they were better than the r

Having The Polyphonic Spree play on the awards is MTV's idea of being edgy. At least they are trying. The Polyphonic Spree is a novelty act that will be gone after their next record - they have two. You have to admit they were entertaining to watch. T

I gave up on these award shows a long time ago. The coolest and best bands never wins and I honestly don't know who buys these awful cd's from these so-called bands. You pretty much have to torture yourself and watch two hours worth of junk to see one o
