Long, Dark NW Songs

"Blood and Roses" by the Smithereens(not sure if it really is NW, but definately dark)
"Dancing With Tears in My Eyes" and "Vienna" by Ultravox and
"A Strange Kind of Love" by Peter Murphy(I like the acoustic version best).

Death In June!!! although, they don't count as new wave, do they? I immediately thought of "Heaven Street" and "Holy Water". Or basically, the entire [i]The Guilty Have No Past[/i] album.

In my previous post, I forgot to include a group that was very dark(a little on the goth side), but also did have synthesizers, Kommunity FK. The song,"Something Inside Me Has Died", was one that would probably fit with the other dark new wave songs. It is on the "Close One Sad Eye" album.

Much of the first Bronski Beat album is like this, even the upbeat numbers. "Ain't Necessarily So", "Screaming", "No More War", "Love & Money", "Need A Man Blues"...I remember hearing this album for the first time in 10th Grade and thinking how depressing it was! Also, remember It's Immaterial's "Driving Away From Home (Jim's Tune)"? I certainly think it qualifies here. Art Of Noise's "A Time For War", "Instruments Of Darkness" and most of side 2 of Who's Afraid Of... are also quite moody.
