I knew "This is the Day" would click with others too. In old threads, there's always been an outpouring of affection for it. The lyrics are so powerful, especially if you were in high school at the time! I even voted it my #4 favorite all time NW song in Freewave's Top 500 survey.

"Under the Milky Way" by The Church. It's a slice of pure escapism and I've never gotten tired of hearing it. I'd read that it was about Steven Kilbey wanting to just get away from it all and chill in a hash bar in Amsterdam (as well as a reference to an Aussie mayor who got busted in a Memphis brothel), but that song just works for me.
