This is Italo/Disco.

Its more like synthetic disco...Its your typical disco song...only synthesized....

I love this song.....so damn much.
so Im sharing....

If you dig italo or disco or SYNTHESIZERS in general....
or some PENTONIC BLUES SCALES......

Frayo, if you ever manage to get back on the hub, you HAVE to check out my folders - I've got tons & tons of disco.

Here's a couple obscure ones for you white suit types:

I've mentioned Black Devil in a couple other threads - but I can't stop talking about them. They were a one-shot studio creation out of Italy from 1979. As far as I can tell, it was one of the first records to use looped vocals. The sound is very un-disco & very much like the colder/darker synth wave stuff from the 80's. I can't imagine they got much play in the discos, but it's cool stuff!

I think this is the same Benelux who did a bunch of really nice remixes for techno groups (Transformer2's Pacific Symphony & 2Fabiola's The Milkyway.) I love how Nancy D. says "Swwwwwwwitch" Nice song & "Mary Ann" introducing herself at the beginning cracks me up "I AM Mary Anne"...phonetics at their best! That's why I love disco - so cheesy, so euro-trash.

Here's another bizarro one. Amanda Lear appeared on one of Roxy Music's early album covers, allegedly when she was Bryan Ferry's girlfriend. She aspired to become singer, but unfortunatly, Amanda's very deep voice, and heavy german accent left something to be desired. So, what's a girl to do? Pose nude in a bunch of magazines,cut some sleazy sounding disco tracks & tell everyone you were born a man! That's another reason I love disco - it even had a place for a woman who claimed to be transexual (but wasn't,) and sounded like she just took a handful of quaaludes & drank a gallon of Wild Turkey. "Follow Me" is from her second album in which she sings most of it from the Devil's point of view.

I guess you couldn't call this Italodisco or Eurodisco for that matter, even though kebekelktric is Gino Soccio, and he certainly has an Italian name, and is often mistaken as a European artist. In fact Gino is a French Canadian, who obviously resides in Quebec. This is a vinyl rip so I apologize about the snaps, crackles and pops...

Gino Soccio rocks! Who knew Quebec was a hotbed of the Disco Inferno. Speaking of froggie grooves, have you ever heard Poussez (pronounced poo-say, emphasis on the saaay). One of my favorite Disco outfits, excellent productions, and some of the earliest trax that used campy phrases like 'ooh la la' and 'ootchi kootchi', which house artists like Baby Ford would later create an entire track around.
