Every thing old is new again

I saw an ad for "Transitions" glasses, whereby eye glasses get dark with the sunlight. They make it sound like new technology. Hmm, seems to me in the 80's I had a pair of specs just like that.

What other 80's fashions, trends, interests are back again? Or perhaps they've never left.

Another example is the Madonna "ripped shirt" look. I frequently see young women wearing them...except they've been modified to show off the bellybutton too (ala Britney Spears).

I think there was another thread about this where I mentioned those fat dayglo shoelaces. I was blown away when my kids started asking for them, lol!

I just bought a pair of cork-heeled wedge sandals. I swear my mom had a similar pair in the late 70s.

Blazers, Studed Braclets and wrist bans, Ripped Gloves, pins (Of Bands),Destroyed jeans, black and White stripes, Pink (from what I understand its the new black), Western Shirts . they were all very intresting and fresh things. Go to Ebay and in the clothing cataglory type in vintage, and in the mens and womens section you got the 1977-89 (Punk, New Wave, 80s) cataglory. authentic. they never left.

i used to get called a geek and a weirdo for wearing my mums old 70's clothes and then they became "fashionable"!!


i also customise old vintage clothes...but only if theyre not valuable!!

my most loved shoes are a pair of original 70's vivienne westwood wedges...i hardly wear them as i dont want to damage them!


everything becomes either "retro" or "kitsch" at some point...
