Ah, the Heebeegeebees aka Philip Pope essentially.

The songs were done as the music segment in the BBC radio comedy show "Radio Active" which parodied the follibles of UK radio stations and is one the great comedy shows.

Two albums were released comprising of songs from the show. The albums were called "439 Golden Greats - Never Mind The Original's Here's The Hee Bee Gee Bees" and "20 Big Number 2s".

The parodies were spot on and occasionly bypassed the original. "Too Depressed To Commit Suicide" by the P.C.s was a better version of "Can't Stand Losing You" and "When Two Songs Sound The Same" by "Frankie Goes to the Bank" effortlessly mixed together a couple of FGTH tunes.

Interesting fact: "Meaningless Songs (in very high voices)" was a hit in Australia.
