I particularly like the the "Define Grunge" topics. Reminds me of the endless "Define NW" topics here.
They even have a Beatles argument going!
Speaking of Motors (if he's still here), there's an entire forum devoted to Sonic Youth.

I dig the "what happened?" thread..."so what happened? it was down then we lost a bunch of posts and junk." LOL!

Just think, there's gotta be a bizarro-persona for each one of us. It's just like that Seinfeld episode. OMG! [:0]

OH MAN! I just saw that! It's OFFICIALLY creepy.

I think one of us should go over as an emissary and start a war between the two boards.[8D]

Not necessary. We merely have to wait for a transporter accident that'll mysteriously send some of our bizarro selves to the Grunge universe. Once there, we'll use our civilized guile to fool them into thinking we're one of them until we can get the upper hand and have their equivilent of Spock...er, MikeP...help send us back to the New Wave universe. Of course the Grungies that come here in the accident will instantly be recognizable for their savagery and have no hope of pulling off the same trickeration!

That would be soooo cool! Do you think they're the exact opposite of us, or are they just a little "off?"

It's eerie, but honestly I don't know if we'd have a "Are drugs good or bad? Should I try them?" thread. Then again....

Wouldn't be much of a war. The New Wavers would be afraid of getting a galactic wedgie, and the grungers would fight back by shooting up some heroin and then blowing their own heads off with shotguns.

But I'll give it a shot anyhoo.

Wish me Godspeed!

Not only that, but judging by the wry grin on his face, I think he's got this smug intruder figured out already. We're foiled!!!

Wow! You're fast![:D] Funny thing is, I found that forum while researching the Kurt Cobain action figure (Courtney..please..stop.. ok?). I like a lot of the bands up there, Nirvana in particular, but reading through the "who here lived through Grunge" forum made me feel like a 60 year old. Man, was 1991 THAT long ago? A lot of the posters seem to have been born in the late 80's (17 and 18 year olds?) so I gather the whole Alterna-movement of the 90's must be some "underground" thing kids are getting into.

That means a few of them will form bands.

Expect a "Next Grunge" movement in 2010 if all goes according to schedule.

(but nobody could dive into a drumkit like Cobain)

Jeezus, what a wasteland that site is. Outside of Soundgarden (who sure as hell were NOT grunge) every band those suicidal flannel wearing dope heads worship SUCKS. They don't even have downloads, but that's probably a good thing. I started a thread about Ian Curtis being Kurt Cobain's idol, since he got the ball rolling with the suicide in the kitchen bit. I bet those folks will love MY ass.
