Psych Albums

A little off topic--(but since when has that stopped anyone?) but here's a link to 100 greatest psych albums of all time-interestingly enough three more contemporary bands-Flaming Lips, Olivia Tremor Control and Phish (!?) made the list-personally I don't mind Phish-there one of the more listenable jam bands out there-yes, I know they're defunct-I regard most jam bands as a bunch of "guitar jocks" (you know the type who read guitar player and hang out at guitar shops and do riffs on guitars-before I get any nasty replies-It just has sometimes appeared to me as though a lot of these guys are more into "whipping it out" then making music-and yes I have hung out with more than my share of "record jocks")--any other more contemporary bands you'd add to the list-

I think the Dream Syndicate's first album should be there and I would also add Spacemen 3 - and yes, Oasis-and my fave rave contempo-psycho-band-almost-for-their-name-only-Brian Jonestown Massacre.

100 greatest psch albums of all time, and Oasis would never be close to being on it, IMO. They would not exist in the same sentence with classic psychedlic works. They belong on that list about as much as John Denver belongs on the list of the top 100 Hea

Is The Darkside on this box set? If not, they goofed up by forgetting this incredible psych band!

It's not a box set-just a list-as for Oasis-hear me out-I think their music resembles some of the dreamy pop-psych of bands like Kaleidoscope (UK) and Blossom Toes-that's why I liked Oasis so much.

I am not saying Oasis didn't have some psych sound, just that with the myriad of classic and incredible psych albums of the last 40 years, I can;t see them in that Top 100.

After linking and checking ou the list, I now understand. When I see Chambers Brothers, Moody Blues, Steve Miller Band, Spirit, Traffic, Ten Years After, etc.....on that list, as well as quite a few others, I realize the compilers of that list didn;t real
