Has anyone here ever heard the pardody of "She Blinded Me With Science" called "I Bought Her An Appliance"? I heard it once, thought it was really good, but never heard it again and I've been trying to track it down for the last 8 or so years.

I'm not sure what CD / album it would be on. I was given a complete 28 CD-R set of every US Billboard Hot 100 Hit of the 80's, so it was naturally one of the many songs included [8D]

Overall I just didn't find the second record quite as good as the first. The little radio bits were cute, but kinda take away from songs a bit. They also work better when the record is listened to as a whole rather than track-by-track (which tends to be how I listen to the novelty stuff).

The songs themselves just seem to struggle a bit to get into the lyrical style of the artist(s) being parodied, and sometimes seem to fall on the stupid side (more Weird Al than the Hee Bee Gee Bees if you know what I mean).

Thanks for the mockumentary offer, but I'm good for that one. Snagged a pretty good copy off of e-mule. I didn't know that there was a Firm CD, I thought they were a two single project. Let me know if you find it!

The second album works much better in its original context than in this form, namely the context of the original radio shows in which it aired. This could well explain the inclusion of new "radio" bits on the album in order to make it seem like it was part of Radio Active. Don't forget that when you're doing one a week for the radio show, quality is bound to be affected somewhere down the line.

I don't know if you experienced this, but a couple of tracks from the second album do sound like a different remix than the radio show versions.

As for The Firm CDs, the search will continue with no end in sight..
