Kick it to the side

Postby ben_at_work » Thu Apr 13, 2006 5:49 am

I was thinking last night about some of my favorite sidekicks. A few came to mind and i thought it would be fun to see which you think is the best.

Al Borland played by Richard Karn: Tim allens flannel wearing sidekick on Tool Time, always quick with a sarcastic comeback.
<a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v359/ben_at_work/rkarn.jpg" border="0" alt="Image hosting by Photobucket"></a>

Jon Baker: Frank Poncherello's Blonde, dutch boy haircut wearing partner from CHiP's. Always the voice of reason. My favorite scene is when CHP Beariksa "Bear" says to him "You should start the JON FOUNDATION for destitute Bakers" HAHAHAAHAHA..Classic.
<a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v359/ben_at_work/jon.jpg" border="0" alt="Image hosting by Photobucket"></a>

Mutley: Dick Dastardleys, dastardley dog who snikered at Dicks Downfalls. Dick's failures were Mutleys joys. a monkey wrench to dicks head would send Mutley into Histericks. They were in the Wackey Races and Stop That Pigeon as well as a few cameos on Yogi's Ark!
<a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v359/ben_at_work/muttley.jpg" border="0" alt="Image hosting by Photobucket"></a>

Tuco Benedicto Pacifico Juan Maria Ramirez, known as "The Rat": Wanted in fourteen counties of this State, the condemned is found guilty of murder, armed robbery of citizens, state banks, and post offices; the theft of sacred objects, arson in a state prison, perjury, bigamy, deserting his wife and children, inciting prostitution, kidnapping, extortion, receiving stolen goods, selling stolen goods, passing counterfeit money, and contrary to the laws of this State the condemned is guilty of using marked cards and loaded dice...". Blondie and Tuco.. Who was the real sidekick. Tuco also gets his props in Big Audio Dynamites "Medicine Show"
<a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v359/ben_at_work/tuco_blondie.jpg" border="0" alt="Image hosting by Photobucket"></a>

Barney Fife: What can i say that hasent already been said about Don Knotts. Pure Comedic Genius!! Nip it in the Bud, Nip it, nip it! Notice in the picture, the guy in the background was also Dr. Bombay from Bewitched
<a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v359/ben_at_work/Log835.jpg" border="0" alt="Image hosting by Photobucket"></a>

Clarabell the Clown: Buffallo Bobs Silent Partner in Crime, I dont really remember the Howdy Doody Show but remember when Richie on "Happy Days" got a snapshot with Clarabell with his pants down!! Classic and Clowns scare me...
<a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v359/ben_at_work/clarabell.jpg" border="0" alt="Image hosting by Photobucket"></a>

Daryl & Daryl: I guess silence is golden as these two never said a word either until the Classic last episode of Newhart. Always funny as was their verbose and articulate brother Larry.

Tuco was cool as hell. I love Deputy Fife, but Tuco got my vote.

Ben:

How can you have a sidekick poll without Jerry Hubbard of Fernwood/America 2Night. He was the ultimate sidekick. The episode where he was plugging his sex education book was hilarious. Actually the show had 2 sidekicks if you include Happy Kyne (of the Mirth Makers), who was born with only one nostril.

Another crazy Ben poll! I voted Daryl and Daryl. That time they imitated the star constellations is one of the funniest things I have ever seen in my life!

Yeah, Boo Boo was pretty cool. I left out some good ones. My favorite line from boo boo was when there were some scared campers that he came across and the husband says "watch out gladys, he's a carnivore" and boo boo says "I'm not a carnivore, I'm a Boo Boo" AHAHAHAHA
