Current Funny Commercials?

Postby Frau_Blucher » Sat Apr 15, 2006 2:41 pm

Any strike the funny bone hard? For me it always seems like it's the odd quirky ones rather than anything over the top. Currently, there's this one where a guy walks into a room. Creepy, tense music is building up as he says "I've been here before...I've been in this room before!" Then his wife chimes in with "Of course you have. You took the virtual tour on hotels.com." "....riiiiiight."

It cracks me up for some reason every time.

Others?

Lately I've been snickering at the Dairy Queen commercials with the pregnant wife. Dad is having the fantasy of his triumphant production of a baby boy and Mom is imagining Dad squeezing out the offspring. Not real subtle or witty, but I like it.

I really love the one for for Carl's Jr. where the farmer kid is slapping the cow to Sean Paul's "Get Busy" (which has now grown on me!). The music is playing "shake that thing!" and it's for milkshakes. Cracks me up every time![:D] Now Carl's Jr. has a new one with a guy driving around in his car with a steak hanging from his mouth. Something about breakfast burritos with steak.

I was on vacation for a week & saw the milkshake one for Carls Jr.

It was funny!!!! kinda reminded me of Rob Schneider slapping the goats ass in The Animal

The Mentos one with the birds cracks me up. It's so stupid it's hilarious. And the one where the woman is using her son as a cell phone antenna by hooking jumper cables to his headgear--that killed me the first time I saw it!

LOL! I love this one, too! When it comes on, Mr. BMG plays along and it's hilarious.

I don't know if it's still current, but there was a recent commercial for a pull-up diaper/training pants/whatever where a kid comes running out of the bathroom with the proudest look on his face in order to tell the lucky viewer: "I pooped in the potty!"

There is one running now that i can't remember what they are pitching but the commercial is a patient in the room facing the camera awaiting a rectal exam, the doctor walks in putting on his rubber gloves which break because his hands are about five times the size of a normal man(they looked like the green plastic hulk hands the kids had a few years ago)when the patient sees this he says "I'm outta here" and quickly exits the room.

GEICO (insurance):

Geico represenative apologizes to 2 cromagnum men in tennis outfits for saying "Geico is so easy to use even a cromag can do it" (paraphrased)....

I like the Staples copycat commercial -- that's cute and funny.

And one of my faves from the last few months (Sprint):

BUSINESS EXEC: "...it's my little way of sticking it to the man."
EMPLOYEE: "But sir, you ARE the man. So, you're sticking it to yourself?"
BUSINESS EXEC: "Maybe."
