Wow, I haven't heard Driving Away from Home in ages. Space is awesome. Thanks, everybody, for the great songs.

Hey, Rissan and all others!

As I found out, "Heaven knows" is from a second It's Immaterial album called 'Song' released 1990. I only knew "Life's hard..." before. Do you have more songs from that second album? Is it worth looking for it on eBay?

Does anyone have extended mixes or b sides???
There should be extended versions of

- Space
- Driving Away From Home
- Ed's Funky Diner
- Rope (?)

and the following B Sides:

- Crooked Tune (Dave Bascombe Remix)
- Trains, Boats, Planes (Dave Bascombe Remix)
- Only The Lonely

There also seems to exist an early single from 1984 "A Gigantic Raft"/"Mermaid".

The only exotic track I have is the B Side of "Space" (a really nice one):

It's Immaterial - Hereby Hangs A Tail

A Gigantic Raft isn't the earliest It's Immaterial single, I think it was the third, and there are a couple of versions available. The first is the very hard to find "Young Man seeks Interesting Job" with "Doosha" as the B-side. The second single was the fantastic "Whiteman's Hut".

The CD of "Life's Hard and Then You Die" has the extended versions of "Driving..." and "Ed's Funky Diner." Some cheap used copies on Amazon.

Hi 1980-F

I have the second album. And I like it although the songs sound quite the same as those on the first album. It can be a burden when you expect a group to progress on their albums, but you like it when it's familiar to you.

Check it out at http://theacf.com/immaterial/. They've got some samples of the album in rar format.
