It is strange that no one has said Yazoo.
I think they are incredibly underated, just two albums, never had a hit in the US
yet they have never have been out of print.
I could almost say any song they ever recorded is one of the best Synth Songs
Maybe it's just too much of a given.

Depeche Mode - Master and Servant

All those awesome Roland Synths and EMU samples.... This song stands as a flawless example of the beauty of darker new wave. Its message is like that of Danny Boy and The Serious Party Gods of the same era, only without all the crude and pornographic language.

John Foxx - Underpass

It was mentioned as being cold...most of Foxx's catalogue was the same way. I thought Gary Numan was pretty cold until I discovered Foxx. Numan was cold, but Foxx, was like something stone dead frozen. Beautiful, though.
This City stands as one of my favorites.

Freur - Runaway

I loved the entire album, and I think that Runaway has a 'playful' (pardon my shoddy word choice here) feel to it. Its a good album, and the vocals on it are interesting to say the least.

Gary Numan - Telekon (album)

As I mentioned Gary Numan before, I'd have to say this is one of my favorite albums by him. The best tune on it being The Aircrash Bureau'. Love Gardiners work on it. Too bad after Warriors '83, he died of an overdose.

Moroder -
Donna Summer's "I need love" and more...
I am a huge fan of everything Moroder does.
I have an extensive collection of his works and soundtracks.
His early years were the best. Where he incorporated those sequenced homophonic bass lines. It was all pentonic blues chord progessions and a lot of movements harmonically equal to a Dmin to G movement. Chords are inverted or dimished...and the various FX and multiple progressions of diminished chords like that in standard disco are thrown into the mix- and the result...is amazing.
Always looking for more material....
Turns out hes like YMO...as soon as you think you have it all, turns out you are only 2% there.

I'd also like to bring up
Japan - Visions in China
This is one of my favorite songs in all time. The reason is the chorus where the lower octave synthesizer makes some declining pentonic movements allowing one whole step mistake that is heard in a lot of new wave tunes, but only in a different key signature, making it difficult to hear. First one that comes to mind is the same progression in Dmin in Kaja - Afraid of You

Imagine the ability to have a synth song..and still keep it new wave while having overdriven guitars!

So many awesome songs were mentioned.
Commenting on them will make this post even longer than it is.
Talk Talk- I have every note they ever put to paper, I cant get enough of those guys.

And Dominatrix Sleeps Tonight! That song had such cool DX-7 FM noises!

I have Hubert Kahs - Sound of my heart On CD...I think I should rip it for you guys to enjoy.
And YMO technopolis.... I listened to that this morning!
Wonderful song.

Anyway- I have to stop there.

'P-Machinery' from Propaganda (not sure if it is PURE synthpop being it has horns and other various sounds..)
'Space Age Lovesong' Flock of Seagulls
'Lies' Thompson Twins
and of course...

'Tell Me Now' Human League

- - The lead synth is so distinct and catchy - draws you right in to the song

The Human League: Seconds
- - Piercing, haunting, pounding, bleak and bright at the same time.
