I think Robert Palmer did a pretty good job with Gary Numan's "I Dream of Wires."

But some folks think Palmer was a latent New Waver.

Jon Auer does a nice version of The Cars "Misfit Kid"-- it's really different from The Cars version, as well as the Psychadelic Furs "Love My Way"
