The United States actually has no official language. It is neither mandated nor even contemplated in the Constitution. Just sayin'.

...er, other than that it's written in English. [;)]

I think it's neat and nuttin' wrong with covering the classics in other languages in spite of the fact I'm against illegal immigration[8D]

It's a gateway song, just to get them hooked on patriotism. Soon, they'll be learning the "Star Spangled Banner" in English, and ultimately, "God Bless the U.S.A.". This scourge must be stopped.

They say that Bush didn't like the song, neither did I. I thought it was kinda gay. Come on, I'm Mexican-American but seriously now. It just makes it seem like we're kissing the U.S.A.'s ass just so our people can cross the border. I'm sorry that song just sends the wrong message.

THIS IS THE ONLY BORDER I'M INTERESTED IN CROSSING. THE BORDERLINE THAT IS.

Think about this. In this country at least you can entertain the idea although it would never happen. Imagine going to another country and saying your changing their anthem. You would have strikes and riots. But then again other countries strike and riot over anything.

Nobody said they were changing it. It's just gonna be played over Spanish radio stations, as far as the television news have reported.

I take it nobody here liked Jimmi Hendrix's rendition of this same anthem?

At least Jimi's was in Electric English!

This spanish national anthem business is wack. The whole idea is an oxymoron. Period.

OK, so everyone here seems pretty pissed off about the National Anthem being sung in Spanish, right? The common complaint I am hearing is "learn English."

Um...maybe I'm nuts, but if you are singing the National Anthem in Spanish, doesn't that mean that you translated the words from English and therefore, speak both languages?

I was just saying...
