We were very unimpressed and voiced it to the shagrin of local yokals who were about to get the pitchforks and torches to run us out of town (idiots). The best part of the trip was listenen to The Repo Man Soundtrack and Sex pistols the whole way there and back to Ft. Knox. Stupid Backward ass Indiana - No alcohol on Sundays, friggin dry counties. Blech dont miss that part of the country... and the Tornados!!! My God the tornados!!!!!

Yeah..I'm not to fonda John

I'm from Indiana. To clarify: 1. While you can't BUY alcohol in stores on a Sunday, you can certainly purchase alcoholic beverages in restaurants and bars (which are open on that day). 2. There are no dry counties in Indiana - there are, however, in Kentucky - maybe you're confused about that. 3. I'm not a John Cougar fan either, but I won't dis him personally just because I may not like his music. 4. Tornadoes - when they are not in threat of causing bodily injury to a person - are fuckin' awesome. 5. While I mostly don't agree with the conservative governmental policies of the state I live in, I do not think it is "stupid" and "backward-ass".

<br>I agree. John's a good guy, but he should keep it to himself about his political leanings. It's damn embarrasing. He used to be pretty conservative. Fame (or some bad weed) poisoned his common sense, as far as politics go.

I think it has to do with his music; like your average heartland rocker--i.e. Springsteen--they feel that since they make music that appeals to people in the midwest, they should adopt what they feel are the political beliefs of their core audience; but since the majority of midwestern states are republican, they find that it conflicts with their freespirited artistic worldviews. Thus, they adopt populist leanings--not what the average midwesterner actually believes, but what they think your average midwesterner should believe. Thus, your...cousin's left-wing rhetoric.

Even the democrats in Indiana are conservative. Evan Bayh is more of a Republican than most Republicans, and he's a Dem!

Any state that spawned "Sammy Terry" and "Cowboy Bob" is kick-ass. Just because I no longer live there doesn't mean that I don't appreciate Indiana. Nothing beats dry Indiana humor. I wish they had some of it in Tennessee.

...and I hear you, Tess. Tornado's are cool as hell when you're just a spectator. Words can't describe it.

Peter Venkman, please tell us how you really feel. [}:)]

As for the MTV contest, if I remember correctly, the house that was given away was on a contaminated "hot spot" and could not be used as the prize. (anyone else remember that?)

They gave them a different house, and a few months later the winners of the contest sold it for a crazy profit.

Yeah, it was a stupid contest. But at least it was music themed, unlike 99.99999% of the content on Mtv today.

The thought of that now would make my stomach hurl.

I think it was a trip to see them in California and go back stage to meet the band.

They were really one of my favorite bands.

I LOVE Sammy Terry! I've got a bunch of Sammy Terry hosted horror flicks on video. He (Bob Carter) is still alive and kickin' too! He doesn't host anymore, but he does public appearances around Halloween, and generally does a TV special in October as well. Rock!

At the moment, I'm unable to dupe copies, but am looking into getting a second VCR in the near future. Once that happens, I'll be happy to make you the Sammy copies. Rock!
