The second release is well worth pursuing if you like their sound. It's okay that they retained their excellent sound IMO. Sometimes,a follow-up or two by a band that completely moves to a new sound can be disappointing. I may find myself asking (as if it was only important to me)why did they have to change that great sound they had, as if they recorded for the sole purpose of pleasing my aural devices.
I guess it may be hit and miss, sometimes an artists direction is more aappealing than their older material, sometimes much less.

Could you please repost the Gigantic Raft mp3?
Does anyone have the 'imitate the worm' single?
Any b-side of the earliest singles (like 'young man')?
