etc


I've lived near the beach in Orange County, so I dialed over to 91X (Tijuana) when I needed an alternative. I found myself dialing to 91X more often in the late 80's and early 90's.

WFNX in Boston was where I first heard the new wave sound .They are still around but it's just not the same. They only play new wave 80's at lunch time and maybe a well known 80's song here and there . [V]

Absolutely!

But let's not forget Seattle's (actually, Bellevue's) KZAM, which had a modern rock format from 1980-81. "Modern music, modern mono!"

WLIR/WDRE was my drug of choice in the 80s. Nowadays, Sirius 1st Wave does the trick for me, though I really believe they could widen the playlist considerably. [:D]

I'd have to go with KJET or KCMU--although I'll admit to being possibly biased because I worked at both. If anyone wants to quibble about that, then let's say KZAM. That's where I first heard the Ramones and discovered that my taste in music was waaaaaaay different from that of my friends.

Well-here's a sentimental pick-under "other"WWSP in central wisconsin was broadcasting the music we love in the 80s and doing it in central wisconsin mind you-it was the first station I was ever on as a dj-I understand the college radio stations at Massachusetts'"Five Colleges" were pretty awesome also
