China Crisis Or Squeeze

Postby newwavepopman » Fri Nov 19, 2004 4:50 pm

Here is a good one. This is a real toughy as I loved both bands bigtime in the 80's.Between the two bands I would have to say that at least in the 80's that Squeeze's albums were all very good. After the 80's ended their material started to change, and became very stale.Starting off with their "Squeeze Play" album until their very last album, none of their albums got back on track, like they all did in the 80's.

But China Crisis continued in the 90's putting out some great material,so of the two groups I will have to say that in the 80's that I liked both bands evenly, maybe Squeeze a little more, but not by much at all.But in the 90's that China Crisis wins hands down.It is a very tough one to call.

I think Squeeze started to change their direction with around the time of the "Sweets from a Stranger" release, and China Crisis was finding their direction with "Flaunt the Imperfection". I didn't stick with either band afterwards, though I did like the

I love China Crisis. "Working With Fire & Steel" is my favorite song by them. But they have other great ones of course. :)

China Crisis is one of my favorite bands, so there's no contest for me. Squeeze has never been my style. Nothing they put out ever grabbed me like CC.

China Crisis.
Squeeze doesn't do anything for me at all and some of their songs are just annoying (Pulling Mussels, Cool For Cats, 853-5937)
I love the entire first disc of CCs "The Collection" especially Black Man Ray.
