Both groups had alot going for them in the 80's,but once 1990 hit Aztec Camera changed their style for a more folky sound and stopped being a power pop New Wave band for some reason.After their "Love" album their material lacked any kind of punch to all of their forthcoming albums after "Love" And I love every one of The Three O'Clock's albums.Not one bad album in the bunch at all,although I really couldn't get into that 60's sounding psychedelic album of theirs at all,but everything else before and after that album was very cool.
Three O'Clock wins hands down for me at least.

Nice to read about these rarely-mentioned bands but they are totally dissimilar in sound.
That being said, "High Land, Hard Rain" ranks as one of the best debut albums, at least in this genre.

Never cared for Aztec Camera, which includes the well loved Oblivious. The Three O'Clock were great for their first couple albums. Sixteen Tambourines is a wonderful album, as is most of Arrive Without Travelling. The momentum dwindled after that.
