Razormaid online purchases?

Any one buy from Razormaid recently? What's up with that funny process where you have to join their site by providing your cc info by US Mail, then you can order on-line? I guess it could be a copyright thing, but it sure seems odd to me.

As a long time Razormaid! subscriber, I can tell you that this is the way to go. There is nothing more safer than this method. Dealing with Joseph and Yale has been a very, VERY rewarding experience over the years. There back catalogue is phenomenal and every piece of product they issue is guarenteed to be the best sounding and best looking you've ever seen!!! I can't rave enough. PLUS, Joseph shares with you the latest news about new innovations and products that would help any budding re-mixer. He is so wonderful and nothing short of genius!!!! You can't do yourself wrong in joining. You will not regret it!!!!!! You have my word!!!!!

Do They still burn everything on cdrs and put them in those cheap plastic slips ?[xx(]

Yes they do burn to CDRs and they are excellent. If there is any problem with them, of course they will exchange and make good on them. Also, they still use those plastic cases. Actually, they are Joseph's original design and they are nice to use because in a DJ situation, you don't want to carry the heavey jewel boxes that CDs normally come in.

Since we are talking about Razormaid! here, I think that this group should know that their back catalogue is full of some New Wave gems. You guys all should check out their "Class-X" series. It's amazing what Joseph has done to these "golden oldies". There is a lot of respect to the original artists' vision and to their integrity!!! You've just got to hear what they've done to Soft Cell's "Sex Dwarf" and to tracks by Simple Minds, Blancmange, New Order, Dead Or Alive et al. No, you don't have to be a DJ to order their product. When you go to the front page of their website, make sure you read the terms of subscription. That's where the information you're looking for is listed.

You won't be sorry for joining. You can have them make customized music discs of all your favorites!!! Now, if that isn't tantalizing enough, I don't know what is. PLUS, they have a series called "Members Revenge" and this is for any of us who whould like to submit our own remixes and have them in the best possible sound quality with awesome art work to boot. It's very, very professional. Oh, don't forget the other series too. It is such a treasure trove of all the best in dance music. Joseph Watt has been on the cutting edge (forgive the pun) for years now. He used to remix commercially. Just check out his "Dead Man's Party (Party Til You're Dead Mix)" by Oingo Boingo and the mixes he's done for Depeche Mode's "Master and Servant". You can't go wrong with choosing this remix service. You will love his take on "Lawn Chairs" and "Kinetic". Absolutely stellar stuff!!!!

i will have to back jeffrey all the way here. as a former dj from back in the day (Late 80's, early 90's), i used a ton of razormaid product and i can vouch that this a a first class operation.

[/quote]agreed, but then we also knew all the music back then. but the great thing about it now, is that you can name your own compilation and pick and choose what you want on a cd. wish we had that option back in the day.

Hey Jeffery, Is the cd`s on the razormaid website that you can order from have that copy control? I like to make cdr`s for my car instead of having the actual cd. I even make myself an additional copy of a cdr for my car if it`s a rare cdr. How easy is it to order ? What are the steps? Sorry for my lame questions but any info would help. Best Regards

Don't worry about asking me questions, I'm glad to help. Yes, Razormaid! CDs are copy controlled. You really can't blame them for doing so. In order for them to release what they do, they have to do this type of thing. I hope you understand. Ordering from them is very, very easy. Just follow the directions and you'll be fine. You won't regret doing so. As I've said before, Joseph and Yale are wonderful individuals who are most helpful with any situation. You should check out their Dance Party!!! It's a DVD of over six hours of dance music blended so perfectly it will make you soil yourself!!!

Wow, these are some of the best consumer testimonials I've ever heard. I'm going to check them out right now. Speaking of DJ services, I'm friendly with the guy who owns X-Mix and I also buy from Nu Dance Traxx. I became familiar with them throught the DJ Expo which I go to most every year in Atlantic City. They have alot of great non mainstream dance tracks along with more commercial ones if you're into that sort of thing but it's tough to find "our bands" from them.

That's why you have to check out Razormaid! They are the only service I know that has a Class-X section that has some really impossible to find New Wave gems!!! Joseph Watt originally studied Music Theory in college. He really only knew of classical music at the time. Soon after that, he met Art who turned him on to punk and New Wave. There are some unbelievable track selections on Class-X. Make sure you check out their discography too for other treasures. Oh, and be sure to read the History of Razormaid in one of the sections. Fascinating reading that will give you marvelous insight into the make up of the company and Joseph's creative process. I can't sing Razormaid's praises enough!!!! They are the "Holy Grail of Remix Services"!!!!
