trivia: the sound effects and stories heard in '19' were sampled from an ABC documentary called 'vietnam requiem' back in '82. Narrated by Peter Thomas it told the story of five vets - meanwhile incarcerated - who shared their memories with the viewers. It was shot by Jonas McCord and Bill Couturie.

That reminds me of an interesting fact about "19".

Paul Hardcastle was sued by ABC for using the voice of Peter Thomas (who did the narrating of the documentary) without permission and lost most of the money he made from "19".

I was able to get my hands on the french version very recently. It's just the 7" but what the heck. Sure you enjoy it anyway. [^]

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the parody record released almost immediately after "19" climbed the charts. Rory Bremner (British comedian and impersonator) released a cricket spoof record called "N-N-Nineteen (Not Out)" which was quite funny even if you did not know anything about cricket. It made the top 20 in the U.K. Here it is:

If you like this, I can also find and post the B-Side.
