How should we call genre which is played by contemporary bands but which sounds a lot like 80's music? New Wave describes to me genuine 80's bands like Human League, OMD, Duran Duran etc so I wouldn't use it.
There are so many groups out there whose music sounds like it was written in '81 or something but actually it's written in last few years. There are so many great bands and songs which deserves to be heard. So my suggestion is Wave Pop (to make difference from real New Wave). It sounds more contemporary and there is the hint at the 80's concept and sound of the music. What you think?

People here like to call this kind of music "Next Wave"; All music styles that somehow remind us or are under the impact of the 80's music. You may visit the other thread to find out more. You will certainly enjoy your time here. Welcome to the board!
