Had a limited small-town news-stand, but Creem and Trouser Press were where I got most of my information on the bands we love. Early 80's Hit Parader was quite generous to the new wave as well.

Cream, Circus and Trouser Press.
Never liked Rolling Stone. Did not care about anything BUT bands. R.S. had a lot of political issues and music I hated, folk, hippie stuff etc....

I like all the magazines mentioned, but when you think of new wave, Flexipop is the one that comes to mind. I learned a lot of music from their 45s that came with the magazine.

Definitely Star Hits/Smash Hits. No. 1 was pretty cool too. There's another one that I love but I can't remember the name right now. It catered more toward the New Romantic crowd. I have a bunch of them at my house.

Zig Zag was a great magazine. I've still got a few, one still has the flexi taped to the cover.

Wasn't Kris Needs involved in Sniffin' Glue somehow? I seem to remember a connection.
