Bush at 29% approval

Postby medication881 » Wed May 17, 2006 11:54 am

Just saw on the MSNBC show Scarborough Country that the prez is enjoying a 29% approval rating. I am actually amazed that almost a third of the country continues to stick with him, what with $3 a gallon for gas, Iraq, and the dozens of other things they have screwed up in the last 6 years. I saw through these guys since day one, so it kind of amazes me that it took so many people so long to sour on him. Not that I am so much wiser than anyone else...I just tend to pay close attention to politics and news in general. So can he pull out of the tailspin? What does this mean for November?

Now if you'll excuse me, I have a new Neil Young album to listen to...[:p]

Oh come on guys, you can't trust these polls. Another attempt by the left-wing media to smear the president. Hutter?

Exactly KYYX, I thought maybe 10-15% would be high for him. He truly is a SHITTY President, but then again anybody would most likely be a shitty president at this time.

Sigh.... that is probably true. Because if Gore had won in 2000, the events of 9/11 would most likely still have occured, and most all the consequential events as well. 9/11 really screwed things up, no matter WHO would've been in the White House at the time.
Still, it boggles the mind how bungled the Bushies have blundered.

I completely agree (and I voted for Gore in 2000) but I don't think he would have invaded Iraq -- the Bush admin wanted to overthrow Saddam from before Day 1.

Hey Medication881!!

Here are some of the reasons why a presidents approval rating would plummet.

A deficit that is through the roof with no end in site.
No fiscal responsibility what so ever.
A war that is a mess. And no sacrifices in wartime, but tax cuts for the richest in the nation
The poor people of gulf states that are still living like a third world country many, many, months after a hurricane.
Where is Osama? The guy responsible for 9/11?
Borders that are wide open for all to walk across. But wire taping and domestic phone records of Americans would be needed for the "War on Terror". [V][xx(][:(]
God, I can go on and on.

What's bothering me is that many Bush supporters think building a border fence would be too expensive but they have no problem spending billions in Iraq. They think enforcing the border is an impossible task but are very confident with regards to rebuilding Iraq.
