Hohokam - King

Does anyone recall this early new wave band? They had this catchy song called, "King". I think they opened for Gary Numan back in the day. Anyways, does anyone have this song, preferably the 12 inch version?? Talk about a lost classic! Thanks!!

baaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
i bleeping hate this flood control. i go thru the trouble of typing a reply only to find that i can type a ton in two minutes and i lose it all. that really sucks ass.

anyway, i know hohokam was released on numan's label and i thought numan was actually a part of the group. maybe he only produced. i have not heard "king" as i did not know it existed, but i would also be interested in hearing it.

i do have "harlequin tears". it is a dance floor classic. interested?

Sure, I'm interested - go ahead and post it. Thanks! I only remember "King" so it'll be new for me. Hopefully someone has "King" though. [8]

Hohokam - King (12")

Cool song but Harlequin Tears is a song on one of my first ever mix tape back in 1985. It sounded great in the club. I have the razormaid version as well.

Thank you for the songs, funkygreentabs. I had only heard "Don't You Know" previously. Good stuff.

just discovered them on a tribute site to Numa Recordings. Has anyone heard the complete track samples from the unreleased album Seven Deadly Sins? What a shame it hasn't been and will most likely never be released. They are awesome.

I have a few singles from them but Seven Deadly Sins is just another example of a good record that died even before it was born. King, Harlequin Tears, Don't You Know, Envy Your Innocence, To Sleep and The American Way are cool songs.

yeah. I just ordered used copies of all 3 singles over the net, and will forever lament the album not being released! Another goodie on the Numa roster was the full length album by Steve Braun that I guess was never released either.

I am only familiar with "Don't You Know" and to be honest it's not all that great. I am not saying it's a bad song it just wasn't what I was expecting. For some reason before I heard Hohokam I was expecting something similar to Ronny. Instead this track reminds me of DOA while not a bad thing just not what I was hoping for. The download links have expired so I guess I am left with this stale taste in my mouth.
